Biography

David Yontz is a native of Frederick County Maryland.  He is an alumni of Frederick Community College, has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fine Arts and Visual Communications from Towson State University, and has studied fine arts extensively at the Maryland Institute College of Art.

As a traditional watercolor realist, David expresses in his paintings the same light and color that nature has provided.  By balancing the two, he paints with delicate spontaneity to convey the charm and character in his scenes that reveal a love for rustic Americana and a commitment to preserving America's Architectural History.  A large collection of his work is scenes from the National Register of Historic Places that have been reproduced in limited edition collectors prints, signed and numbered by the artist.

David had previously free lanced for Karl Mann Associates in New York City before returning to Western Maryland.  Today he makes his home in Jefferson, Maryland  with his lovely wife Vicki and Daughters Vanessa and Lindsay

David is a member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society.

Born July 9, 1947  Passed July 29, 2004.

David will be greatly missed in the local art world where he dedicated his artistic style and life to memories of Frederick County Maryland.  Through his wonderful scenes of the historical buildings and areas throughout  Frederick and the surrounding areas people through generations will be able to enjoy his renderings.
