Gallery at Yesteryear featuring Personal Touch Portraits Artist: Clare Villanti Unique, Personal and affordable, these graphite portraits make meaningful gifts for a variety of occasions. An included background scene and or personal symbols are optional for an additional touch. Clare works from your favorite photograph where the subjects head is at least 1.5 inches high (the larger the better), and the facial details, especially the eyes, are in clear focus, undistorted and preferably without shadow. She can change hairstyles, position, clothes, and any other items to suit your taste. Elaborate clothing, hairstyle and jewelry detail are an additional cost. Finding the right photo may be the only challenging aspect of this exciting project. About the artist: Clare received a B.A. in fine art at the University of Maryland in College Park in 1976 but has been drawing since the age of 4. Before the advent of computer graphics she earned a living as a technical illustrator doing isometric views for illustrated parts-breakdown manuals. In 1991 she had the opportunity to start her own portrait service working solely in pencil. Since then she has incorporated charcoal and conte pencil and color work in the chalk pastel medium. Her main objective with the portraits is to render them as true to life as possible, bringing out the spirit and personality of each subject.
