Gallery at Yesteryear Featuring Lucille C. Kerns Fine Artist Original Water Color
Lucille was born and raised in England and always wanted to be a fine artist, however, the practical solution would have been commercial art which did not appeal to her so her ambitions went by the wayside temporarily. Married to an American Airman at the age of 19, she emigrated to America, received American Citizenship in 1962 and traveled and relocated frequently for the majority of her husbands 30 year military career. Throughout this period whilst raising four children, Lucille found the time to pursue her interest in art taking classes in painting and wheel thrown pottery and from very early on exhibiting and winning many awards all over the United States. ( Included w3as an award representing Kirkland AFB New Mexico in a competition sponsored bye the USAF between the bases' in the Tactical Air Command. Lucille has sold her work via galleries and shows as well as privately and has been a Maryland resident since her husbands retirement for 26 years. Some of the places she has exhibited in Maryland are: Savage Mill, Savage Oella Mill, Ellicott City The League of Maryland Craftsmen, Annapolis Slayton House, Columbia Fairhaven Retirement community, Sykesville

Lucille loves to meet and interact with people and artists in a homey, family oriented environment and the festivals are wonderful setting for enjoying art and the outdoors together. Watercolor is her favorite medium having earlier painted mainly in Oils and is competent in most subject matter working from her own photography as reference material. She maintains strict originality preferring to share her own view of the life around her than someone else's and feels truly blessed to have the opportunity to share her vision with others.
