Biography
Nancy Krug is a Maryland native and lives in Western Howard County where she and her husband Fred raised three boys and five girls. Here family has always encouraged her talent.
She has always drawn and painted, but became serious about her gift as the children grew up. She studied under artist Erma Lucas, perfecting the fine art of color mixing. She also took classes with notable artists, Gina Sommerlock and Zina Poliszuk where four years ago she began working with watercolors. She also works with oil and paste.
She has won many first and second place awards at the county level and has completed numerous commissioned home portraits. Most of her work is in private collections.
Nancy probes the simple, isolated fragments of lifetimes, an empty basket in a dusty barn, the charm of historic places and people, anything that is reminiscent of Americana.
