Biography
Dorothy Wilson Eby is a native of Carroll County. She has painted for more than twenty five years, studying under Marcia Leiter, Allen Potter and Shirley Lippy. Her primary medium is acrylics, but she also works in pastels, water color and color pencil. Her primary subjects are Carroll County farm scenes, mastering in old barns before they are gone.
Dorothy says the old barns are a symbol of the past, and she tries to capture them on canvas as farms disappear from the Carroll County landscape. She also paints flowers and gardens, often with an impressionistic accent.
Dorothy's work has appeared in exhibitions at the Shriver Homestead, Art in The Park, Carroll Community College, Women in the Arts at Carroll Community College, Carroll county Office Building, The Mayors Office in Westminster, Gateway Medical Center, Carroll County Arts Council Gallery and the title America West. Her paintings have been purchased for Title America West's Corporate collection.
Dorothy is a member of the Carroll County Artists Guild and has served as Vice President.
