Whatcha Want Hon? began with the research and drawing of lighthouses leading to production of prints, notes and calendars. Her detailed drawings garnered commission work for Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, the Linda Lee Bed and Breakfast and the Garden of Verses Bookstore in cape May, New Jersey. Her work is on sale in Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and Florida. 2006 found original note card designs in Dottie's Florist in DeLand, Florida using Bitten's photographs of the owners own orchids. After two years of working on the lighthouse project, Bitten finally had time to turn her attention to painting and photography. For two years in a row, her photographs won Grand Champion at the Maryland State Fair and first and second and third place for her art work as well as runner up for the Maryland Wineries 2006 Photography contest. Bitten was commissioned to do a portrait of professional photographer Carol Shulman for her website. Drawing on her Scandinavian roots, seascapes and lighthouses illustrating the quieter times in nature are favorite subjects. However, abstracts and three dimensional art pop up from time to time. Bitten is an active member of Towson Arts collective in the Towson area and the South Carroll Fine Arts League in the Sykesville area. Her work can be seen at Towson Framing Gallery in Towson and at the Gallery At Yesteryear In Mount Airy.
