Gallery at Yesteryear Presents Beverly A. Mey Artist Oil Paintings
Biography Beverly Frank Mey was born in Baltimore City and was educated in Anne Arundel County. Throughout her life she pursued a wide array of artistic studies, crafts, stained glass, china painting, tole painting and oils. Beverly owned and operated a craft business for students of all ages which she found inspiring and rewarding. She taught a number of private students flower arranging, needlepoint, crewel and various crafts. She also taught classes at the Anne Arundel and Howard County YMCA's and the Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll and Howard Counties Departments of Recreation. Beverly attended Anne Arundel Community College art classes, workshops and seminars sponsored by the Delaplaine Visual Art Center, Carroll County Art Council and the Carroll Community College. She studied with Barbara Nuss of Nuss Fine Arts, Mary Pfister of Delaplaine Visual Arts Center, Kathy Kniess of Kniess Fine Arts and is presently studying with David Zuccarini in Howard County. Inspired by the history and charm of Carroll County she began painting private homes, historic buildings, local landscapes and gardens, and developed her specialty of house portraits, she also pains flower portraits and wildlife. Juried exhibitions inwhich her work has been selected, include, Carroll County Arts Council, Contemporary Art of Maryland Government House in Annapolis, Howard County Arts Guild, the Delaplaine Member show and Holiday shows. Her works are displayed in office buildings of Carroll County, Annapolis and Frederick as well as other locations in Baltimore city and across Maryland. She has won awards from Honorable Mentions to First Place. She has orchestrated one man shows at Beasman's Center Gallery a Fairhaven, the Carroll County Life Gallery, Sun-Dog Gallery, Fells Point, Little Italy, Savage Mills, Deep Creek Lake, and many local restaurants. Beverly's originals and prints are for sale in galleries in Fulton, Eldersburg, Sykesville, Frederick, Baltimore, Deep Creek Lake, Westminster, and now in Mount Airy at the Gallery at Yesteryear as well at her own studio in Finksburg.
